The total export value was 8.27 billion yuan, up 50.4 percent year-on-year, and the total import value was 33.81 billion yuan, up 20.4 percent year-on-year.
In August, the province saw rapid growth, with total foreign trade volume reaching 5.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 51.7 percent.
In the first eight months, Gansu also saw substantial growth of imports and exports with major trading partners, including Kazakhstan, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the European Union, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the import and export value of Gansu with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative achieved 20.47 billion yuan, up 27.8 percent year-on-year, accounting for 48.6 percent of the total foreign trade value of the province.
The foreign processing trade continued to accelerate in Gansu. In the first eight months, the import and export value of processing trade reached 12.72 billion yuan, up 73.3 percent year-on-year, accounting for 30.2 percent of the province’s total foreign trade value.
In the first eight months, the export value of mechanical and electrical products was 3.94 billion yuan, an increase of 27.9 percent year-on-year.
The export value of agricultural products, basic organic chemicals and labor-intensive products was 1.41 billion yuan, 400 million yuan and 390 million yuan, respectively, with respective year-on-year increases of 35.5 percent, 45.3 percent and 159.3 percent.
In the first eight months, Gansu imported metal ore and other ore valued 18.4 billion yuan, up 17.8 percent year-on-year.
记者9月14日从兰州海关新闻发布会获悉，今年前8个月，甘肃外贸进出口总值420.8亿元，同比增长25.3%，增速排名全国第8位。其中，出口总值82.7亿元，同比增长50.4%；进口总值338.1亿元，同比增长20.4%。8月当月，甘肃省外贸进出口总值52亿元，同比增长51.7%。其中，出口总值8.7亿元，同比增长20.6%；进口总值43.3亿元，同比增长60%。前8个月，甘肃外贸进出口呈现五个特点：
一是8月当月同比增速大幅提升，月度累计增速继续超2成。从单月看，今年前8个月，甘肃外贸进出口值除4月外，其他月份进出口均保持两位数增长。下半年以来，甘肃省外贸进出口保持较强韧性，8月当月同比增速达51.7%。从月度累计看，前8个月，甘肃外贸进出口增速达25.3%，保持两位数增长态势。
二是与主要贸易伙伴进出口持续大幅增长。前8个月，甘肃对哈萨克斯坦、东盟、欧盟、刚果（金）、印度尼西亚等前五大贸易伙伴进出口值分别为100.1亿元、42.6亿元、30.9亿元、30.2亿元和28亿元，分别同比增长47.6%、123.7%、47.5%、119.4%和745.4%。同期，甘肃对“一带一路”沿线国家进出口值204.7亿元，同比增长27.8%，占甘肃外贸总值的48.6%，比上年同期增加0.9个百分点。对RCEP其他成员国进出口值90.2亿元，同比增长48.9%。
三是承接加工贸易转移步伐持续加快。前8个月，甘肃加工贸易进出口值127.2亿元，同比增长73.3%，占甘肃外贸总值的30.2%，比去年同期增加8.4个百分点。其中，出口值21.4亿元，同比增长19.3%；进口值105.8亿元，同比增长90.7%。同期，甘肃一般贸易进出口值276.7亿元，同比增长21%，占甘肃外贸总值的65.7%。其中，出口值58.5亿元，同比增长78.3%；进口值218.2亿元，同比增长11.5%。
四是主要出口类产品全部实现大幅增长。前8个月，甘肃机电产品出口值39.4亿元，同比增长27.9%。其中，电器及电子产品出口值28.2亿元，同比增长18.3%。农产品出口值14.1亿元，同比增长35.5%。其中，种子、苹果汁出口值分别为2.7亿元、1.6亿元，同比增幅分别为49.3%、77.5%。基本有机化学品出口值4亿元，同比增长45.3%。劳动密集型产品出口值3.9亿元，同比增长159.3%。
五是金属矿及矿砂、镍钴新材料进口保持增长态势。前8个月，甘肃金属矿及矿砂进口值184亿元，同比增长17.8%。其中，铜矿砂及其精矿进口值130.7亿元，同比增长13.6%；镍矿砂及其精矿进口值34.5亿元，同比增长41.1%。镍钴新材料进口值51.2亿元，同比增长175.7%。
